    On Thursday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, stressed the need to make efforts to expedite the disbursement of the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees, while the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, called for a “radical solution” to the problem of the region’s “financial entitlements” and employee salaries by amending the budget law.
    The Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement, “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received, today, Thursday, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, and his accompanying delegation, which included the Deputy Prime Minister of the Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, the Regional Ministers of Interior and Finance, Reber Ahmed, Awat Sheikh Janab, and the Chief of Staff.” The regional government, Dr. Amed Sabah, and a number of other government officials.”
    The statement added, "During the meeting, the issue of the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government was discussed, as the President expressed his confidence in the keenness of both sides to resolve all outstanding issues in accordance with the constitution and the law and in a way that establishes security and stability in the country."
    The President of the Republic affirmed his "support for the regional government delegation as a joint and unified team," stressing "the necessity of making efforts from all governmental and political parties to expedite the payment of salaries to Kurdistan Region employees."
    He pointed out the necessity of "overcoming the problems and crises occurring in Kirkuk Governorate and adhering to the implementation of decisions related to administrative changes in it and in accordance with the political agreement that was concluded during 
    The State Administration Coalition meeting recently.
    In turn, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government stressed "the importance of the constitutional role of the Presidency of the Republic and the efforts made by the President in bringing the views of the heads of the political blocs closer together in order to expedite the disbursement of the salaries of the region's employees on a par with federal government employees."
    He called for "a radical solution to the problem of the region's financial benefits and employee salaries by amending the budget law, and the need to find an immediate solution to disburse the salaries of Kurdistan region employees by the Council of Ministers."
