The state administration coalition forming the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani affirmed respect for Kuwait's territorial integrity and solving problems by peaceful means.
This came while Al-Sudani hosted the regular meeting of the state administration coalition at the government palace.
According to a statement received by Noon News Agency, the meeting dealt with a group of important topics and issues related to the political, economic and service situation. The Prime Minister reviewed the details of his visit to New York and Iraqi relations, at the international and regional levels.
The meeting discussed Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations in light of developments related to the maritime border file between the two countries, and the consequences of the policies of the former regime.
The attendees stressed that Iraq is governed by a constitution based on the principle of separation of powers, stressing at the same time their rejection of the methods used by the previous regime in dealing with neighboring countries and the file of international relations, which cost Iraq dearly.
In this regard, the attendees agreed on the following:
1. Iraq respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the State of Kuwait and is committed to all its bilateral agreements with countries and to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, including Resolution No. (833) taken by the United Nations Security Council at its 3224th session held on May 27, 1993, which was approved and signed by the head of the regime. Baathist by decision of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council, No. (200 of November 10, 1994), and its approval by what was known as the National Council at that time on the same date.
2 - Solve all problems by peaceful means, reject the use of violence in relations with neighboring Iraqi countries and other countries, and use negotiations and dialogue as a means of solutions, away from tense statements.
3 - Supporting the government in its efforts to continue negotiations to resolve some of the outstanding problems between Iraq and brotherly Kuwait, in a way that preserves the two countries’ legitimate rights.
