[size=45]On Monday (10/2/2023), Mr. Fares Issa, Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Representative Office in Baghdad, received in his private office a delegation from the American Embassy in Iraq, headed by Mr. “Aaron Garfield,” Deputy Counselor for Political Affairs, and his accompanying delegation.[/size]
[size=45]During the meeting, the current situation in Iraq and the region and the recent developments in the political and security scene and their effects on Iraq were reviewed.[/size]
[size=45]Reference was also made to the recent successful visit of Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, to Baghdad and his fruitful meetings with the three presidencies, party leaders and Iraqi political forces of various orientations, which changed positions and opinions regarding relations between Baghdad and Erbil and overcame obstacles in order to reach constitutional and legal solutions to the outstanding problems.[/size]
[size=45]The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s representation in Baghdad confirmed during the meeting that the Kurdistan Regional Government, led by Mr. Masrour Barzani, concretely confirmed its support for the government of Mr. Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani in order to implement its government program and find solutions to the various files.[/size]
[size=45]For its part, the guest delegation stressed that the Kurdistan Region is an important factor for the stability of Iraq and the region and part of the solution to various problems, and everyone should support it and deal with it positively.[/size]
