Baghdad sends 171 billion dinars to Kurdistan as dues for this category

An official source in the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Kurdistan Regional Government revealed, today, Monday (October 9), that the federal government has sent a new batch of funds to the region.
The source said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “ the federal government sent an amount of 171 billion dinars to the region as part of farmers’ dues for the year 2023.”
He added, "The amount is distributed to Sulaymaniyah at 77 billion and 374 million dinars, Erbil at 51 billion and 186 million dinars, and Dohuk at 38 billion and 963 million dinars."
He stated that "the amounts will be distributed to the farmers after the completion of the legal and administrative procedures."
Last September, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafa Muhammad, confirmed in press statements that, “The Kurdistan Region, after the approval of the Council of Ministers to send 700 billion dinars for a period of three months, will have received 4 trillion and 600 billion dinars from the federal government.”
He added, "These funds were sent to the Kurdistan government in the form of loans, disbursed by the government banks located in Baghdad, namely Al-Rafidain and Al-Rasheed."
Regarding the way to return the amount to Baghdad, Wafa stated, “The Kurdistan region’s share of the financial budget amounts to 16 and a half trillion dinars, which is enough to settle Kurdistan’s accounts with the federal government,” indicating that “Baghdad, whatever loans it sent, is very easy to return.”
The leader of the Democratic Party confirmed that “the salary crisis that occurred during the coming days between Baghdad and Erbil, and after sending financial loans, has ended temporarily,” pointing out that “the final solution will be by sending the approved budget share.”
