    Baghdad today - Baghdad 
    Today, Saturday (October 14, 2023), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation announced the holding of an urgent ministerial meeting of the Executive Committee to discuss the repercussions of the war in Gaza.
    The organization stated on its official website, followed by “Baghdad Today,” that “at the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Chairman of the Islamic Summit in its current session and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Organization’s Executive Committee will hold an urgent extraordinary meeting at the open-ended ministerial level, to study the military escalation in Gaza.” And its surroundings and worsening conditions, threatening civilians and the security and stability of the region.” 
    She indicated that "the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah." 
    Iraq is expected to participate in the emergency meeting in Jeddah, as it is a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. 
    Earlier, the foreign ministers of Iran and Iraq called for coordinated and effective action by Islamic countries to help Palestine and stop the aggressive attacks of the Zionist entity. They also called for an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to study developments in Palestine.
