Labor allocates 200 loans to victims of human trafficking

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs allocated 200 loans to victims of human trafficking for the next three years, while a joint committee was formed with the Ministry of Interior to address the phenomenon of begging and human trafficking gangs.
The head of the Ministry’s People with Disabilities and Special Needs Authority, Dhikra Abdel Rahim, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: The Ministry is working hard to provide justice to all affected groups of society, including the families of victims of human trafficking, for which it has allocated 200 loans for the years 2024, 2025, and 2026, and within the committee’s national plan. Combating human trafficking.
She revealed the formation of a joint committee with the Ministry of Interior to follow up on begging groups and human trafficking gangs in order to reduce these phenomena that have begun to threaten society as a result of their expansion, especially the phenomenon of begging and the gangs behind it by exploiting vulnerable groups and forcing them to beg in the streets on their behalf.
Abdel Rahim stated that the Ministry included beggars and their families with social assistance salaries, provided that the beggar writes a pledge before the Ministry of Interior that he will not return to begging, noting that the groups of beggars are managed by (mafias) and achieve large financial returns for themselves by exploiting children, women, and the elderly, and making them practice begging in exchange for sums of money.
