The General Retirement Authority confirmed that 1.6 million retirees will be included in the salary increase after the recent Cabinet decision.
The head of the National Retirement Authority, Maher Hussein Rashid, said, “The number of retirees benefiting from the salary increase approved by the Council of Ministers reached 1.6 million people.”
He added, "The Commission is prepared and prepared, and has prepared an extensive study of this subject, which includes comprehensive data."
He noted that "next October, the salary increase will be launched."
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Council of Ministers approved a lump sum increase of 100 thousand Iraqi dinars to the salaries of retirees, who receive salaries of one million Iraqi dinars or less.
A number of economists criticized the government's intention to increase the salaries of employees and retirees, because it would cause an increase in the inflation rate, and beneficiaries would not be able to invest it, due to the rise in prices, as there would be an increase of about 2 trillion dinars on the total salaries of retirees.
