    German Chancellor Olaf Schulz confirmed that his country is working to achieve a ceasefire and to contribute to the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.[/size]
    [size=45]Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received, on Friday (November 3, 2023), a phone call from German Chancellor Olaf Schulz, during which they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the latest developments in the region.[/size]
    [size=45]According to a statement by the Prime Minister’s Media Office, Schulz stressed “Germany’s keenness to continue communication and dialogue in order to find a peaceful solution to the crisis and consolidate stability in the region.”[/size]
    [size=45]In turn, Al-Sudani reiterated, “Iraq’s clear and principled position on the Palestinian issue, on the Zionist aggression against the occupied territories and the Palestinian people, and on the atrocities committed against them on their historic land.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani called on the German Chancellor for the European Union to take “a clear position to condemn the violations and crimes against humanity that affect the defenseless and besieged Palestinian people on their land, who are facing a humanitarian tragedy that has been denounced by the entire world.”[/size]
    [size=45]He stated that the events in Gaza “now represent a moral test for the international community and the great powers, and place them before their legal and humanitarian responsibilities.”[/size]
    [size=45]On the other hand, during the call, Al-Sudani pointed out the importance of strengthening the partnership between Iraq and Germany.[/size]
    [size=45]He stressed the desire to proceed with it in accordance with common interests and expand the horizons of economic and development cooperation for the benefit of the Iraqi and German peoples.[/size]
