    Baghdad today - Baghdad 
    Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed today, Saturday (November 4, 2023), that the state is responsible for making major decisions based on the interest of Iraqis. 
    Al-Sudani said in a speech on the sidelines of the “Iraq Ambassadors Conference,” followed by “Baghdad Today,” that “the independence of our national decision is at the forefront of the principles we are talking about,” stressing that “the state is responsible for making major decisions in accordance with the constitution and based on the highest interest of the Iraqis.” 
    He added, "We affirm our conviction in resolving differences through diplomatic means, and we mean our differences and the region's differences." 
    On October 27, 2023, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, sent a request to the government and parliament to vote on closing the American embassy in Iraq, due to the latter’s unlimited support for the Zionists against Gaza, he said.
    Al-Sadr said in a blog post on the (X) website, followed by “Baghdad Today”: “From the standpoint of supporting the oppressed in the east and west of the earth, I demand (the Iraqi government) and (the Iraqi parliament) with all its factions and orientations, for the first time and for the sake of public, not private, interests, to vote to close the embassy.” America in Iraq for the unlimited American support for the terrorist Zionists against Gaza.” 
    Meanwhile, Member of the House of Representatives, Burhan Al-Mamouri, responded to the request of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, regarding the closure of the American embassy in Baghdad, indicating “initiating a campaign to collect the signatures of representatives to close the American embassy in the capital, as well as calling on the Presidency of Parliament to hold an extraordinary session in order to present a project.” A binding law for the purpose of closing the American embassy and voting on it in the House of Representatives.”
