    [rtl]Baghdad - Iraq Today:

The head of the Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers, Omid Sabah, today, Wednesday, expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister of the Federal Government, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, for ensuring the necessary requirements to proceed with the parliamentary elections in the region, which are scheduled to be held in February of the year 2024. He also thanked the Prime Minister of the region's Nechirvan Barzani for his role in this field. Sabah heads a delegation from the regional government that visited the capital, Baghdad, and met earlier this morning with the Independent High Electoral Commission to discuss the ongoing preparations for holding legislative elections in Kurdistan. After the meeting, the delegation held a press conference in which it talked about the discussions that took place between the two sides. Sabah said during the conference that the regional government confirms that the elections will be held on the scheduled date, adding that this is what we officially informed the Election Commission, which has expressed its full readiness to hold the vote next February in Kurdistan. He added that all official departments and institutions in the Kurdistan region will be at the service of the High Elections Commission to ensure the success of the general and private voting process, and we trust the Commission's procedures to hold free and fair elections, noting that the The Commission has made preparations and set a very good schedule to proceed with the elections in Kurdistan at their specified times. Sabah added, “Here we thank the region’s presidency and President Nechirvan Barzani for the role they played in this field, and they are in constant contact with the Federal Election Commission.” He also expressed his thanks to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani for providing all the necessary needs to hold the elections, noting that what remains are the financial allocations that were approved by Al-Sudani, which we talked about a lot today, and that The Federal Ministry of Finance should secure them as soon as possible.[/rtl]
