The Ministry of Transport intends to open direct air routes to Australia, America and Malaysia, at the same time achieving full capacity during the past months on board the national carrier’s aircraft.
Director of the Ministry's Media Office, Maytham Al-Safi, said that his ministry is working hard to lift the European ban on Iraqi Airlines, which is the face of the country internationally, by adopting firm steps towards implementing the requirements of the International Aviation Organization, especially in light of its continuing delivery of modern aircraft for the national carrier fleet and opening New travel destinations.
He pointed out the opening of more than five destinations to Europe and China, in addition to the opening of lines to Denmark and Germany under a joint operating system, and doubling the number of flights to regional countries, pointing out that there is diligent work to operate flights to Malaysia, Australia and America in the near future according to a vision and feasibility study prepared. So .
Al-Safi pointed out that the past months witnessed 100% fullness rates for all sectors served by the Green Bird, indicating that this came as a result of adopting the studied plans that were directly managed and supervised by the Ministry, noting at the same time that the Ministry had prepared plans to revitalize and develop the work of the air fleet, in addition to To improve services and diversify destinations, aiming to increase flights during the coming period, through important additions included in the action plan, such as restarting suspended lines such as the German and Danish lines, as well as working to open new regional and international destinations.
