Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Parliamentary Legal Committee responded, on Thursday, to the representatives objecting to the legality of holding the special session of the House of Representatives and approving the amendment to the High Electoral Commission law, calling on those objecting to resort to the Federal Court to challenge it.
Committee member Omid Muhammad said in an interview followed by Al-Masala, “There is no legal problem in holding the voting session on amending the High Electoral Commission law, and anyone who sees otherwise can file an appeal in the Federal Court regarding the legality of the session.”
He added, “The Parliamentary Legal Committee finds that the extraordinary sessions are determined after collecting 50 signatures from members of the House of Representatives to hold them, and thus there is no legal defect in holding the session and approving the law.”
