    Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Agriculture detailed the agricultural card program and its most important features, while confirming that the project will start from the Holy Governorate of Karbala as a first stage and will include all governorates successively.
    The Director of the Agricultural Card Program, Director General of the Agricultural Investments Department in the Ministry, Iyad Al-Bolani, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Agricultural Card Program is one of the reform projects that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani adopted in the government program, and it was also adopted by the Ministry of Agriculture.” He stressed that "the project will be launched in about a month in the Holy Governorate of Karbala as a first stage, and after that it will include all governorates successively."
    He pointed out, "The program was allocated financial allocations from the budget, but the Prime Minister requested that it be presented as an investment opportunity for companies specializing in software and electronic payment," pointing out that "every farmer and every Iraqi investor will have his own agricultural card that includes all the information about his activities."
    He added, "The Ministry of Agriculture will base its plans, programs, and policies on real data, because of the agricultural card project," noting that "the agricultural sector has lacked real data for more than 20 years, so the agricultural card project will provide real data, in addition to the support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and... Activities related to the agricultural sector, whether the agricultural plan, receiving seeds, fertilizer, or loans, will be carried out through this card.”
    He explained, “The agricultural card is an electronic entry that contains all the information about the farmer, and he will be in the agricultural division that is close to the geographical area in which the farmer has agricultural possessions, and a special identification card will be issued to him. Anywhere he goes, the employees of the division, the directorate, the ministry, and the party that he owns will recognize him.” Deal with it.”
    He continued: "The agricultural card will also be linked with the ministries and concerned authorities, such as the Ministry of Commerce and Banks, to guarantee the rights and obligations of farmers, in addition to the fact that the government will have real data on all farmers."
