Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the categories included in the Agricultural Loan Fund, while indicating that the fund will finance medium and small projects.
The Ministry's Administrative Undersecretary, Mahdi Sahar, said: "The management of the Facilitated Agricultural Loan Fund has been transferred from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Agriculture under the management of the Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Jabr Al-Maliki," indicating that "administrative procedures are being completed to manage the fund by the Ministry of Agriculture."
Sahar explained, “The largest portion of the financial allocations available in the Facilitated Agricultural Lending Fund was allocated to small and medium-sized farmers’ holdings to target them, such as development and revitalization of the agricultural projects available to them, in addition to their adoption of modern agricultural techniques, such as seeding, fertilization, laser leveling, mechanization, and the adoption of solar energy for irrigation projects, especially agricultural systems.” Modern irrigation.
He continued: "Also among those targeted for the loans are full-time agricultural engineers and veterinarians, in addition to youth projects and special initiatives they have in the agricultural field."
He pointed out, "If the Facilitated Agricultural Loan Fund launches its financing with simple interest, there will be a major qualitative leap in the agricultural sector, through the launch of thousands of agricultural projects for small and medium-sized holdings."
Sahar added, “The Agricultural Cooperative Bank, through its own available resources, continues to finance agricultural projects according to the interest allocated by the Agricultural Cooperative Bank.”
