    Shafaq News/ Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani described, on Wednesday, building and developing economic relations between Iraq and Turkey as a “sovereign and strategic decision.”
    This came during his meeting with a delegation from the Turkish company "Teriyaki Agro", in the presence of the Executive Director of the Iraq Fund for Development, Muhammad Al-Najjar, and the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Gunay.
    A statement issued by the Media Office of the Prime Minister stated that, during the meeting, the latter expressed his congratulations on the signing of the Turkish company and the International Finance Corporation/IFC, a contract to establish an industrial complex that is the first of its kind in Iraq to process agricultural crops in the port of Umm Qasr. The Turkish delegation also expressed its desire To participate in establishing other projects in the agricultural field, modern irrigation techniques, and clean energy.
    Al-Sudani affirmed the government’s support for these investment steps, indicating their importance in enhancing food security, providing local job opportunities, within the optimal investment of water resources and using modern technology, working to remove all obstacles facing investors, and inviting other Turkish companies to enter the Iraqi investment arena.
    The Prime Minister also explained to the Turkish delegation that building economic relations between Iraq and Turkey and developing them according to mutual benefit is a sovereign and strategic decision that will enhance the security and stability of the region.
