Citizens of the Abu Ghraib areas, west of the capital, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], were surprised on Friday morning by a complete cessation of Internet service in their areas, accusing the Ministry of Communications of forcing them to provide one for this service.

The Ministry also confirmed that this measure will include all regions, respectively.

The people of the Abu Al-Gharib area said in an interview with Al-Sumaria’s correspondent that the Ministry of Communications began today to cut off service from the towers equipped with Internet service, as part of the Ministry’s measure to limit the service to one provider on the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] side.”

They added, "Citizens were not informed in advance of this interruption, and it is not yet clear when the service will return."

Also, no statement has been issued yet by the Prime Minister’s Office or by the Media and Communications Authority in this regard, although the Authority will seek to issue a judicial order to stop the process of cutting off the Internet.
