    [size=45]A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Moeen Al-Kadhimi, says, “A ministerial meeting was previously held between Finance Minister Taif Sami and the Ministries of Oil and Planning, to put the touches on the required amendments to the financial budget tables for the year 2024.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “The budget schedules include changing the price of crude oil production costs, increasing electrical energy allocations, as well as increasing social welfare allocations, in addition to increasing the allocations of food ration items, and purchasing watermelon and wheat (...).” The member of the House of Representatives pointed out that “The Parliamentary Finance Committee is awaiting the arrival of the schedules of amendments to the budget from the government early next month, for inclusion and approval within the House of Representatives.”[/size]

At the beginning of the hosting, the Chairman of the Committee welcomed the Minister of Finance, stressing the importance of holding the meeting to discuss financial issues, spending, and completing the schedules for the 2024 budget, in addition to the topics of the amounts added to purchase energy, compensation for employees and examiners, and the implementation of projects included in the government plan, adding that There are meetings and field visits to institutions to find out all the details. The statement added that the Finance Committee discussed the possibility of diversifying non-oil revenues and not relying on oil revenues, and the necessity of moving towards multiple revenues to achieve self-sufficiency and end the deficit, in addition to the financial amounts for the round for the year 2023.[/size]
