A new classification showed that there is a large disparity between countries in the percentage of home ownership, which means what percentage of those who live in homes that they own and are not renters?
According to the classification followed by Al-Sumaria News, Iraq ranked 111th globally out of 196 countries in ownership percentage, that is, a relatively late rank, as its home ownership rate is about 74%, meaning that 26% or more of a quarter of Iraqis live in rent.
Hong Kong, China, came in last place, with only about 37% of home ownership rates, and most of the home residents are renters. In contrast, Albania came in first place with the largest number of ownership rates, as renters are only 4%.
On the Arab level, Bahrain came first in the percentage of home ownership, followed by Oman, Sudan, Morocco, Jordan, Kuwait, Palestine, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria, and Iraq ranked 12th among the Arabs.
