    Baghdad/Al-Masala: The Global Artificial Intelligence Index included 11 Arab countries out of 83 countries included in the report for the year 2024.
    The report, launched in 2019 by Tortoise Intelligence, measures progress in artificial intelligence in countries by analyzing national strategies and comparing them to the size of government spending, through several basic indicators.
    The core indicators include: government strategy, operating environment, infrastructure, research and development, competencies and trade, and include 122 sub-indicators based on data from the public and private sectors.
    The following is the ranking of Arab countries in the Global Artificial Intelligence Index:
    Iraq: ranked 77th globally, and 9th in the Arab world.
    - UAE: ranked 20th globally, and 2nd in the Arab world.
    Egypt: ranked 52nd globally, and 3rd in the Arab world.
    Qatar: ranked 54th globally, and 4th in the Arab world.
    Bahrain: ranked 62nd globally, and 5th in the Arab world.
    Jordan: ranked 63rd globally, and 6th in the Arab world.
    Oman: ranked 64th globally, and 7th in the Arab world.
    Tunisia: ranked 71st globally, and 8th in the Arab world.
    Saudi Arabia: ranked 14th globally, and 1st in the Arab world.
    Morocco: ranked 79th globally, and 10th in the Arab world.
    Algeria: ranked 80th globally, and 11th in the Arab world.
    Globally, the United States continues to lead the index, while China maintains second place, as they are far ahead of the rest of the countries in the report.
    Singapore retains third place, being the most dynamic country in AI in Asia after China, while Britain retains fourth place, followed by France.
    Artificial intelligence is generating great enthusiasm around the world, as well as fears that it may replace some human jobs, affect electoral processes, and surpass human capabilities, which could lead to disastrous consequences.
