On Sunday, the Iraq Stock Exchange announced the suspension of its activity for one day.
The market stated in a statement received by Al-Iqtisad News, “Based on the decision of the Council of Ministers to declare a one-day official holiday on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Musa Al-Kadhim.”
He added, "The first trading session will be starting Wednesday, February 7th."
It is noteworthy that the Iraq Stock Exchange organizes five trading sessions weekly from Sunday to Thursday, and 103 Iraqi joint stock companies are listed there, representing the sectors of banking, communications, industry, agriculture, insurance, financial investment, tourism, hotels and services.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed that official working hours be suspended next Tuesday in Baghdad on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of Imam Al-Kadhim.
On the 25th of the month of Rajab every year, tens of thousands of Shiite visitors perform rituals commemorating the death of Imam al-Kadhim (peace be upon him).
