    The Presidency of the House of Representatives obtained approval to include the Mukhtars Law among the list of laws prepared for first reading in the coming days.

    Independent MP Amir Al-Mamouri said that the Presidency of the House of Representatives agreed to present the Mukhtars Law for a first reading and it will be presented in the coming days, pointing out that the law is distributed between the Regional and Governorate Committees and the Legal Committee, noting that it is possible for the Security and Defense Committee to participate as a partner to express an opinion. According to the official Al-Sabah newspaper.



    Al-Mamouri added that the law was enacted in 2011 under No. 32, but its paragraphs did not do justice to the Mukhtar, pointing out that there are specific tasks that must be assigned to the Mukhtar, because he is part of the executive body and an assistant to the leadership of the police and security agencies in all their forms and types.

    He pointed out that the Mukhtar is a representative of the region, and there will be an increase in his duties and at the same time an amendment to his salary, in addition to amending the law, as there will be a monthly salary that he will receive in order to obtain retirement rights, adding that increasing the Mukhtar’s salary is within the powers of the Council of Ministers.
     
    The “Mukhtar” is considered the link between the state agencies and the citizen, and undertakes a number of sensitive tasks, including providing the security services with complete information about the locality, and supporting the presence of the citizen in his locality, in addition to accompanying him to any arrest operation, which put him in the face of the local people who look up to him. Negative outlook.

     
    The “Mukhtar” provides a complete database for every citizen. He also facilitates their need for housing approvals and requests for services. He also monitors public morals and bears the costs of his work, including stationery and other things. As for remote areas, he bears the costs of travel to the governorate center.
