    Baghdad today - Sulaymaniyah
Today, Thursday (March 14, 2024), Kurdish politician Mahmoud Raouf called on the Iraqi government and parliament to take quick action against the recent Turkish transgressions on the border strip with the Kurdistan region.
Raouf said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “the recent transgressions and talk about a military operation by Turkish forces are extremely dangerous, and Turkey is disrespecting Iraq’s sovereignty and must be stopped immediately.”
He added, "Dozens of strikes and targets that caused casualties, as well as waves of displacement, in addition to military movements and the construction of new bases, and talk of a military operation by the Turkish army in Kurdistan, all of these matters require quick action by the Iraqi parliament and a decision to expel those forces from Iraq." “As a foreign power, there is no need for its presence.”
Earlier, Turkish Defense Minister Yasser Guler announced that his country "decided" to end the presence of the Kurdistan Workers' Party in Iraq "completely and completely" before next summer, indicating Turkey's intention to "launch a giant military operation" in Iraq in the near future.
