The Parliamentary Reconstruction and Services Committee called on the Baghdad Municipality to expedite the completion of the file of agricultural land ownership for its occupants, in implementation of a previous decision by the Council of Ministers.
Committee member Madiha Al-Moussawi revealed, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", the latest details of the ownership of agricultural land for its occupants, indicating that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani decided to give a 90-day grace period to residents of agricultural land types to submit a request to the Baghdad Municipality for the purpose of registering it, in conjunction with the Council of Ministers' decision regarding the ownership of agricultural land issued at the end of 2022. Moussawi added that "the governorate and the Baghdad Municipality responded to the Prime Minister's directives and published an announcement to register citizens on land within 14 municipalities and three departments, and they were actually provided with numbers and registration of land data, calling for the acceleration of the completion of this file and the completion of the distribution of bonds.
Al-Moussawi stressed the need to rearrange the basic design of cities, because citizens are not committed to the regular area, blaming previous governments for not distributing or organizing plots of land. Baghdad Municipality had indicated in previous statements that it would continue to grant bonds in implementation of the decision to legalize agricultural lands for their residents.
