    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]During his meeting with Iranian businessmen and traders residing in Iraq, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called for solidarity and cooperation in order to resolve the current problems.[/rtl]
[rtl]During this meeting, which was held at the Iranian embassy in Baghdad under the patronage of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadiq, Pezeshkian added: We came to Iraq in order to facilitate the work of Iranian businessmen and investors in this country.[/rtl]
[rtl]The President of the Republic stressed that the problems can be solved through cooperation and solidarity so that trade and production flow easily between the two countries, Iran and Iraq.[/rtl]
[rtl]He added: The trade and economic dealings between Iran and Iraq are a two-way deal and both parties should benefit from it.[/rtl]
[rtl]By verifying the existence of obstacles in the way of economic, trade and investment development between the two countries, Pezeshkian stressed the need to establish special working groups and develop a long-term plan to overcome obstacles and develop trade, economic and investment exchanges between the two countries.[/rtl]
[rtl]The President of the Republic positively evaluated the results of his talks with the Iraqi Prime Minister, which addressed ways to develop trade and economic activities between the two countries.[/rtl]
[rtl]In this regard, Ambassador Al-Sadiq presented, at the beginning of this meeting, a report in which he confirmed that Iraq is an important trade partner for Iran, and the annual trade volume between the two countries amounts to about 12 billion dollars.[/rtl]
[rtl]He added that Iranian oil exports to Iraq constitute about 20% of these exchanges, calling on Iranian businessmen to invest in this country, due to its good investment capabilities.[/rtl]
[rtl]In a related context, the head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce also stated during the meeting: The approach to trade cooperation with Iraq must be directed towards investment.[/rtl]
[rtl]Samad Hassan Zadeh said that the opportunities inside Iraq far exceed the volume of Iran’s current exports to this country, indicating that the ceiling of trade exchanges between the two countries currently stands at $12 billion.[/rtl]
[rtl]Haszadeh added: This level can be raised to $20 billion annually.[/rtl]
