The Minister of Electricity, Ali Fadel, and the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Batal Al-Najm, discussed today, Monday, joint cooperation and benefiting from the products of the Ministry of Industry companies in relation to electrical energy.
A statement by the media office of the Minister of Electricity received by "Mawazine News" stated that "the Minister of Electricity, Eng. Ziad Ali Fadel, and the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Batal Al-Najm, chaired a joint meeting of the advanced staff in the two ministries to discuss joint cooperation and benefiting from the products of the Ministry of Industry companies in relation to electrical energy."
He added that "the meeting addressed several topics, including the local manufacture of power transformers, as the Minister of Industry explained the ability of the companies affiliated with his ministry to manufacture and equip electrical power transformers at various voltage levels. The two parties also discussed the possibility of manufacturing smart meters that are compatible with the Ministry of Electricity's orientations towards smart transformation, in implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. (23627) for the year 2023."
He continued, "The attendees discussed the details of the mutual debts between the two ministries and ways to pay them, as the two sides agreed to form a joint committee headed by the undersecretaries of the two ministries to find appropriate solutions."
The meeting, according to the statement, touched on "the decisions of the Industrial Coordination Council, where the two parties stressed the existence of cooperation between the Renewable Energy Center and Al-Zawraa State Company," stressing "the need to expand this cooperation in the future and invest in the support of the Prime Minister by chairing the meetings of the Industrial Coordination Council."
According to the statement, the Ministry of Industry, represented by its specialized companies, presented "the possibility of repairing power transformers on site, according to each case individually. The two sides also stressed the importance of adhering to the implementation of government directives related to the delivery of scrap to the companies of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, while emphasizing the removal of obstacles to the implementation of these directives."
At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to "form a joint coordination committee between the two ministries to reduce the obstacles to their cooperation and enhance joint coordination in the future, which contributes to achieving common goals and developing the electricity and industry sectors in Iraq."
