Iranian President Hassan Rowhani said on Saturday he would not allow his country to expose secrets at risk through inspections of its nuclear and military facilities demanded by the West.
These form a major point of contention issue in the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the six major powers aimed at reaching a final agreement on the Iranian nuclear file by the deadline specified in the June 30.
Rowhani said at a televised news conference "Iran will never allow the fall of state secrets in the hands of foreigners by the Additional Protocol or any other means" in reference to the mechanism will allow the inspections more precise sites inside Iran.
Rowhani did not rule out the application of the Additional Protocol, pointing out that other nations signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty have done this in the past without any problems, but he stressed that Iran will not be subjected to special procedures more intrusive.
He called on US diplomats and French Iran to agree to strict inspection procedures, which include international officials to grant access to military sites and carry out inspections to report their intentions before a period not exceeding two hours.
The refusal of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has the final say in Iran's foreign and military policies of a number of Western demands similar between the two interviews with nuclear scientists and acceptance of "exceptional control procedures." [/ltr]
