    The Financial Times newspaper revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin had sent Russian military intelligence chief Gen. Igor Serg to Damascus late last year, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to reach the need to leave the power and step down just weeks before the death of Gen. on the third of January, it did not give the newspaper more details on the death of Serg newspaper pointed out that Assad rejected during a meeting with the Russian ambassador categorically Putin asked.
    He stressed that Russia will not have a future in Syria, but to continue in the presidency, while Russia responded by saying it is a rumor and that President Bashar al-Assad is a strong ally and must stay because it is the only one able to control the situation in Syria.
