    Twilight News / Voice of the Iraqi parliament on Monday on the fourth amendment to the law Journalists Syndicate No. (178) of 1969 as amended in 2017.
    According to the text of the law: name of the people, President of the Republic
    Based on what passed the House of Representatives in accordance with the provisions of subsection [Second] of article [61] and item [III] of Article 73 of the Constitution
    The Fourth Amendment to the law Journalists Syndicate No. 178 of 1969 as amended in 2017
    Article [1]: canceled paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 of Article III of the law and be replaced by the following: enable journalists to perform press their message and to exercise the necessary freedom to do as part of the literary and national responsibility and in accordance with the provisions of this law.
    1. raise the level of the profession and to maintain their dignity and ensure their rights and defend their interests and the development of audio-visual and written and electronic trade union organizations.
    7. contribute with institutions and media agencies in the dissemination of culture and knowledge of humanity in all its forms distinct and deepening awareness of the responsibilities of citizenship.
    Article [2]: Article V of the Act repealed and replaced by the following resolves:
    Article V: classified union members in a table on the three sections as follows:
    1. Participating journalists.
    2. Experienced journalists.
    3. Journalists exercisers.
    Article [3]
    First, the phrase replace [the media and sections of the media in the faculties of colleges and institutes instead of the words [Department of Journalism in the Faculty of Arts] contained in paragraph 2 of Article VI of the law.
    Second, replace the phrase [veteran journalist] instead of the words [Working Journalist] wherever they appear in the law.
    Third, replace the word [the judge] instead of the word [the governor] contained in paragraph 1 of Article XIII of the law.
    Article 4
    The text of Article XIV and solve replaced by the following:
    Article XIV:
    Elected deputy captain and members of the Board and Committees of discipline, surveillance and union representatives in the provinces and a majority secret vote for a period of four years.
    Article 5
    It repealed the text of paragraph 3 of Article XV of the Act and replace replaced by the following:
    3. Do not be elected captain for more than two consecutive four-year cycle.
    Article 6
    First paragraph of Article canceled thirtieth of the Act and replace them as follows:
    1. sums of journalists and media institutions and subscriptions that determine the beginning of each year by decision of the public body was at the suggestion of the Bar Council that these amounts are symbolic.
    Article 7
    The reasons for the law repealed and replaced by the following resolves:
    For the purpose of access to organize meaningful to the press in line with its important role in raising awareness and the need to practice freely, and to raise the literary, artistic and cultural, social and economic level of journalists and allow them to press their message and ensure their rights, and to enable the journalists' union of the advancement of the press and upgrading and maintaining their dignity and ensure their rights and defend their interests and service workers in the press and media, initiated this law
    Article 8
    The Cabinet shall issue instructions to facilitate the implementation of this law in cooperation with the union.
    Article 9
    This law will be effective once it is published in the formal newspaper.
    Reasons:
    For the purpose of modifying some of which included the journalists from the provisions of the law and to make them consistent with the new and responsive legal system to the requirements of modernity and aspirations of journalists for the purpose of streamlining administrative and legal conditions in accordance with the contents of journalistic work and organization in the Arab and international unions, this law was enacted.
