Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Zayadi of the Sadrist Ahrar bloc pointed out that “postponing the endorsement of the elections law draft is better than endorsing a weak law that denies the rights of the minor blocs in the elections.”
The parliament decided to postpone the voting on the elections law draft till next Monday session due to conflicts on the items of the law.
Zayadi stated to IraqiNews.com “We do not want to have a weak law that deprives the minor blocs from participation in the elections so we should not be speedy concerning this issue even if the elections were postponed for a month or two.”
“The MPs have two choices represented by postponing the elections or committing a crime in endorsing an immature law in a similar way to the case of ratifying the Iraqi Constitution,” he concluded.
