{International: Euphrates News} The first lady in the United States, Melanie Trump, underwent surgery that the White House said was a cure for a kidney health problem.
Melanie Trump's office said she underwent surgery at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center to prevent blood from reaching tumors inside the kidney, whether benign or cancerous.
Stephanie Gresham, a spokeswoman for the first lady, said the surgery succeeded without any complications.
The wife of the 48-year-old president is due to spend the rest of this week at the Maryland Medical Center to recover.
And without US President Donald Trump tweeting on his personal account on the Twitter social networking site he said he was on his way to check on his wife.
"The First Lady looks forward to a complete recovery of her work for children everywhere," Grisham said in a statement issued by Melanie Trump's office.
Last week, Bush's wife unveiled the "Be the Best" initiative aimed at raising children's awareness of the importance of health, social, psychological and physical.
The initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of healthy living and combating the abuse of opium medicines.
News of Monday's surgery by former US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, 78, for pancreatic cancer also appeared.
