[ltr]Iraqi Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi said on Monday that his country would consider whether or not to increase oil production if OPEC decides to boost supply at a meeting on June 22.[/ltr]
[ltr]Al-Luaibi said that his country's production of oil at the present time within the limits agreed with OPEC at about 4.325 million barrels per day.[/ltr]
[ltr]Al-A'ibi said that "the producers from within and outside the OPEC have not yet reached the goals planned after the historic decision to reduce production," and said that his country believes that "oil prices are still below the level of ambition, and they need more support and stability, To fair and realistic prices. "[/ltr]
[ltr]"We must not exaggerate the need for the oil market to pump more oil at the present time, which could cause great damage to global markets, and may also be interpreted in the wrong way by speculators and consumers, leading to a significant decline in oil prices, and this is not Acceptable to us. "[/ltr]
[ltr]In early 2017, OPEC and a group of non-member countries, led by Russia, began implementing an agreement to reduce crude output by 1.8 million barrels per day to eliminate excess supply, with the agreement ending in December 2018.[/ltr]
[ltr]OPEC countries such as Saudi Arabia have expressed their readiness to supply the oil market with their crude oil needs, if supply is shortened by the US sanctions against Iran.[/ltr]
[ltr]Under the deal, Iraq cut production by 210,000 barrels per day to 4.35 million bpd, Oil Ministry officials say Baghdad has fully complied with the agreement.[/ltr]
