On Sunday, September 16, Saudi Arabia will witness a historic meeting at a time when Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz is calling for an urgent end to the war.
The spokesman for the United Nations, Farhan Haq, that the leaders of Ethiopia and Eritrea will meet in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, to sign a historic agreement to strengthen relations between the two countries and end the former hostility, according to Agence France-Presse.

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia willhost the signing ceremony in Jeddah, in the presence of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterich and African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mohammed.
Al- Arabiya channel reported that King Salman had invited UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterich to attend the signing of the peace agreement between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
A few days ago, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed announced the withdrawal of his country's troops from the border with Eritrea and the latter, in a manner that would remove the chronic tension in relations between the two countries.
Last Tuesday, the two countries reopened the land border for the first time in 20 years, paving the way for their trade .
Last July, Ethiopian Prime Minister and President Isaias Afewerki signed a declaration on peace, formally ending two decades of hostility .
