    Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The Iraqi Airways will finish its procedures to start three flights between Iraq and Kuwait.

    A source within the Iraqi Airways stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “One of the three flights will be from Baghdad to Kuwait and the other two will be from Najaf to Kuwait.”

    “The Iraqi Airways is waiting for the approval of Kuwait to specify the prices of the tickets and the timings of the flights,” the source concluded.

    Iraq restores communication with Kuwait air


    The
    Iraqi Transport Ministry confirmed that Iraq would open the air plan
    very soon with the State of Kuwait, stating that the move would open the
    door for joint cooperation between the two countries and at all levels.

    A
    Ministry statement quoted agency n news copy "after ending the file of
    Kuwaiti debt fully and with the support of the Prime Minister and the
    Ministry of transport, the Minister, Hadi al-Amri and Captain Saad Mahdi
    Saeed, Director General of the Iraqi Airways company

    The company
    is preparing to re-establish Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations, and perspectives
    that bring neighbors, through the operation of an air route linking the
    two countries, which was interrupted for so long because of the policy
    of the former regime and that the bitterness of the war's horrendous to

    Iraqi Airways has put the final touches to operate 3 flights a week between Iraq and Kuwait.

    A
    source in the Iraqi Airways agency in Iraq, that "three weekly flights
    will be the reality of [Baghdad-Kuwait flight one, Najaf-Kuwait
    flights]."

    He noted that "Iraqi Airways pending approval from Kuwait to determine ticket prices and flight times.

    the dispute has ended and final settlement of the issue of Iraq with
    Kuwait Airways after Kuwait was signed by Amir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah
    on 23 October 2012 issued a decree to approve financial settlement,
    following the signing of the two sides on a final settlement for Iraq to
    pay the $ 500 million as a final compensation to Kuwait Airways..

    President
    of the civil aviation authority in Kuwait Tuesday, Iraqi Airways will
    resume weekend flights to Kuwait after a hiatus of 22 years.

    And
    the official news agency quoted Fawaz Al-Farah as saying that "Iraqi
    Airways will resume flights to Kuwait on 16 of the month     following
    approval by the Civil Aviation Authority said, adding that" Iraqi
    Airways will operate four flights a week, one directly and two from
    Baghdad across Najaf and 4 across.

    And refrain from Kuwait
    Airways on flights to Iraq but the private company "flying island" began
    years ago with special flights to Najaf, last October 2012, Kuwait has
    reached a final agreement with Iraq in which Baghdad will pay $ 500
    million to end a 22-year-old dispute between the two airlines of the two
    countries.

    And Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations have recently made
    progress in terms of resolving some outstanding issues, as agreed during
    the visit of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to Kuwait in March 2012, to
    end the issue of compensation for KAC and the maintenance of border
    markers, as was agreed on the basis of common frameworks for the
    resolution of all files within the short time scales, with Foreign
    Minister Hoshyar Zebari, who accompanied Al-Maliki to visit that what
    has been agreed is substantial progress with regard to Iraq out of
    Chapter VII.

    Subsequently, Kuwait announced on 3 April 2012 will
    the reopening of the line to fly to Baghdad in the coming days for the
    first time in more than 21 years, said that action was the culmination
    of efforts between the two countries to strengthen relations.

    British
    authorities detained, (25 April 2010), Iraqi aircraft from Baghdad to
    London after the cessation of flights between the two countries in 20
    years, the plane 30 traveling from the Iraqis and foreigners, including
    former Transport Minister Amer Abdel Jabbar and Iraqi Airways Chief
    kifah Hassan, who was detained by the British judicial authorities,
    because of the Kuwaiti claim on damaged aircraft caused by the Iraqi
    invasion of Kuwait in 1990, required to pay $ 1.2 billion for airlines
    Kuwait.

    Kuwait has demanded since Iraq's invasion in 1990 to pay $
    1.2 billion as compensation for seizing 17 aircraft owned by Kuwait
    Airways, this led to political problems between Iraq and Kuwait
    following the recent lawsuits against Iraqi Airways to freeze funds in
    Jordan and Britain early in 2010, which led later to take the Iraqi
    Council of Ministers adopted a resolution in May of the same year, the
    filter and the abolition of the company and offered for sale to private
    companies, and also decided to abolish all administrative profiles
    Associated with maintaining its sold to a private company.

    The
    Iraq since 1990 is subject to Chapter VII of the Charter of the United
    Nations, which imposed after the invasion of Saddam Hussein's regime,
    the State of Kuwait in August of the same year, this item allows the use
    of force against Iraq as a threat to international security, as well as
    to freeze large amounts of stock in banks to pay compensation to those
    affected by the invasion.

    Feb 12 (KUNA) -- President of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation
    (DGCA) Fawaz Al-Farah announced here on Tuesday that Iraqi Airways will
    resume flights to Kuwait as of February 16 after 22 years of
    suspension.

    Al-Farah told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the DGCA
    has agreed to a request by the Iraqi civil aviation authorities to run
