Saudi newspaper reveals an "understanding" between Allawi and Abdul-Mahdi on defense

Saudi Arabia's Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper reported Monday that there was an "understanding" between Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and the head of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, over the Defense Ministry candidate, while the Sunni House was still divided.
"The Sunni House is already divided twice; first, the fact that some Sunni MPs and blocs are part of the (reform and reconstruction) bloc, which includes (s) and (al-Hakamah)," the newspaper said in a report, (The national) and (victory), and the other part within the block (building) which includes (Fath) and (state law), and the second is on the candidates of the ministries, especially the Ministry of Defense.
He added that "the national axis (Sunni) within the bloc (construction) believes that the post of Minister of Defense of his share, the most prominent candidate is Hisham Darraji, while (national), led by Allawi, believes that the position of share," noting that "there is an understanding between the President Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Iyad Allawi provides that Abdul Mahdi supports the candidate presented by Allawi. "
The Iraqi politician said that "Allawi has already presented Faisal al-Jarba to Abdul-Mahdi, who had already put it at the vote on the fourteen ministers, but the dispute over the security portfolios prevented the passage of it, and therefore Jarba is also an option for Abdul Mahdi," adding that " On his rivals, including the candidates of the bloc (National axis) that will be divided on him, which increases his chances to run for this position, not that the candidate.
