Paul took a young guy named Timothy under his wing. They had such a strong mentor/mentee relationship that Paul called him his “true son in the faith” (1 Timothy 1:2 GNB). The pair ended up travelling around, helping to grow, and look after, churches. They even ended up in prison for their Godly work together, on more than one occasion. Paul helped Timothy become the person that God wanted him to be, and he could only do that because Timothy knew how to take advice seriously.
It’s so, so important to be able to learn from others. No matter how much you know, you still have something to learn. Chances are, there’s someone in your church that could teach you a heck of a lot - someone to go back to with questions and problems and ideas and prayer requests and, well, everything.
