The Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshes announced today, Saturday, the payment of the dues of farmers throughout the country, including the dues of the farmers of the liberated areas for the previous years.
And the head of the committee, Salam Al-Shammari, said in a press statement, a copy of which was received by “Khabar Press” agency (brother), that “the announcement of the exchange process took place during the meeting of Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi with the Chairman of the Committee, the Minister of Agriculture and the Undersecretary of the Minister of Commerce.
He added that: the meeting led to proceeding with the implementation of the provisions of Paragraph C of Article 50 of the Budget Law, which stipulated: (The Council of Ministers must increase the current prices for the purchase of wheat and barley crops from farmers by 50 thousand dinars per ton), due to the need to support farmers.
Al-Shammari explained that: the development of this sector and the treatment of the collateral damage that afflicted this vital sector as a result of changing the exchange rate of the dollar is imperative in light of the need to sustain self-sufficiency in agricultural crops because of their paramount importance to the national economy.
