Today, Wednesday, the Minister of Commerce, Alaa Al-Jubouri, announced the formation of a high-level committee to implement the electronic card project.
Al-Jubouri said, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that "the ministry is following with great interest the level of implementation of the electronic card program, which has a role in directing the ration card to its beneficiaries, as well as the means of technical support provided by the program in limiting the abuses that occur in preparing beneficiaries of the system.
He pointed out that "we see that there is a slowdown in the completion of the program, which must be remedied through high-level coordination with the United Nations program and facilitating its tasks in completing the details of registering information and proving the concept in particular," stressing that "the work team now possesses all the information that allows it to Complete the task and launch the project by choosing a pilot environment in the rich areas of Baghdad city center.
He pointed out "the importance of rehabilitating the technical staff working in the Planning and Follow-up Department and the supply centers supervising the work of the electronic card, as well as the agents of foodstuffs in order to develop their capabilities and work in the program in order to achieve the success of the project and prevent any suspicions of corruption that cause delays in this advanced technical project that allows the citizen to use Electronic applications in registering new births or marking any note in the work of food agents.
