America: We are committed to supporting Iraq to address and improve its energy deficit through the regional link
Shafaq News/ Today, Saturday, the United States of America renewed its commitment to support Iraq in addressing its deficit in the field of electric power, and improving the stability of this sector through the regional link.
This came in a speech by the US Chargé d'Affairs, Gregory Legervo, at the Iraqi Energy Forum, which was held in the capital, Baghdad.
He stressed the strong US commitment to support Iraq's efforts to address its energy deficit, improve the reliability and resilience of its electrical grid, as well as enhance the business and investment climate.
Logirvo said that improving the stability of the energy sector in Iraq through regional connectivity, gas collection and the deployment of renewable energy sources is a necessary prelude to expanding economic opportunities and improving the lives of the Iraqi people.
Chargé d'Affairs Logirvo highlighted US efforts to help Iraq achieve energy independence, including USAID efforts to support Iraq in the deployment of large-scale distributed renewable energy generation as well as smart meters.
He also said that American companies are actively working to develop new projects in the energy sector with the Ministries of Oil and Electricity. They are reliable partners and are ready to offer their expertise and technologies to build a more robust Iraqi energy sector.
