    On Sunday, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers revealed the construction of the Information Technology Academy, while it indicated the presence of 4,000 employees specialized in the field, with 750,000 employees using information technology out of 2.2 million civil employees in the country.
    The director of the National Data Center in the Municipality, Ammar Mazhar, said in a statement to the newspaper, "Al-Sabah", that "the center represents the executive arm of the Supreme Committee for e-Government," noting that "the biggest challenge we face is the provision of infrastructure, and when available, the programmers inside the country are of high potential."
    Mazhar pointed out that "there is a strategy that will be launched before the end of this year, if implemented in the right way, then all the specialists in computer affairs will be able to work and we may need labor from abroad," noting that "the plan includes 100 strategic projects, each of which needs main and basic objectives."
    He stressed that the center, in cooperation with international consultants, conducted a comprehensive survey of the state of government institutions and their degree of readiness, as it prepared an accurate survey form and distributed it among the institutions, received the answers, checked and translated them, analyzed the data and extracted the results, as it showed the presence of 2,000 government sites that provide services inside Iraq, and 133 sites that provide services outside And there are 750,000 employees out of 2.2 million civil employees who use information technology, at a rate of 36%, in addition to the presence of 4 thousand employees currently specialized in the field of information technology.
    He pointed out that “an initiative was put forward by the Media and Communications Authority, funded by the center, to develop a comprehensive training plan, as well as the establishment of a training academy specialized in the field of information technology after being inspired by the experiences of other countries, and its management may not require more than 10 people, while electronic programs exist in the original.” It only needs documentation from the international companies responsible for it," noting that "that academy specialized in e-governance needs infrastructure and is specialized for those interested in information technology."
