Today, Friday, the semi-official English-language newspaper, the Saudi Cassette, described the Iraqi economy as "does not stand strong against crises, but rather develops and achieves significant growth despite its existence," explaining that "these characteristics made investment in Iraq a priority because of the great security it achieves compared to The current deteriorating global economic situation.
And the newspaper indicated, in a report translated by (Baghdad Today), that "the Iraqi economic conditions witnessed during the past months a great growth, especially after Al-Sudani assumed responsibility for power and thus ended the period of political disruption that marred the caretaker government under the administration of Mustafa Al-Kazemi, which negatively affected the Iraqi economy as a result of its loss." The ability to make important decisions regarding the economy," according to the network.
The newspaper quoted the director of the Spring Center for Saudi Economic Studies, Shawan Ibrahim Taha, as saying that "the future of the Iraqi economy seems very optimistic," stressing, "Despite the economic crises that are afflicting the world now, the Iraqi economy has been able to withstand strongly and is still witnessing continuous development and growth." ".
According to the newspaper, the economy witnessed "significant growth, especially with the increase in the Iraqi budget during the year 2022 by about 59% from the previous year, and the country's obtaining a large surplus of dollars as a result of high oil prices and the stability of the Iraqi domestic economy," stressing "the optimism of foreign investors about the Iraqi economy and investment environment in particular." under Sudanese authority.
Taha expected that "Al-Sudani will succeed during the coming period in preparing the way for foreign investment in Iraq through a set of decisions that the concerned authorities are discussing with Al-Sudani now," which, according to Taha, "is behind the desire of Saudi Arabia and other countries such as China, Japan, England and France to invest." Inside Iraq during the coming period and as soon as possible.
Saudi Arabia, for its part, according to the newspaper, "has set up a special fund to invest in Iraq through a company that attracts foreign investment in addition to managing Saudi investments inside the country, investing in cooperation between the Riyadh and Baghdad governments under the management of Al-Sudani."
The newspaper concluded that "the Iraqi stock market is currently witnessing significant growth, as the Saudi Al-Rabea Investment Group launched an application and a website that allows citizens in the Arab Gulf to speculate in Iraqi shares directly," pointing out that it "also seeks to develop the sector of speculation in shares in Iraq on the basis of general level.”
