    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Representative Raed Al-Maliki announced that he had filed an appeal before the Federal Supreme Court, declaring that four articles in the Public Financial Budget Law were unconstitutional, indicating that "these articles cause a waste of public money."
Al-Maliki told "Baghdad Today" that "the appeal is not related to the right of the Iraqi people, but rather to the constitutionality of articles that may cause public waste, including granting governors the authority to direct contract up to an amount of 6 billion dinars and an exception from contracting instructions and controls," noting that "this matter may open a door to corruption." .
He referred to "an article that opens the door to investment and partnership and its regulation with instructions to exclude from the provisions of the laws and to extinguish advances with the aim of taking the decision of the Minister of Finance and to prevent any expansion in its interpretation."
He pointed out, "the creation of funds and the distribution of funds randomly, contrary to the standards for sharing federal resources, and therefore we demanded that it be a general fund for the distribution of resources and amounts for all governorates."
Al-Maliki added, "These items, which we appealed, did not demand that they be stopped now, and the decision will be for the Federal Court."
The Federal Supreme Court had informed the House of Representatives of the appeal filed by the government regarding the financial budget.
The Parliamentary Finance Committee described the appeal as "very expected."
A legal expert also predicted that the court would accept the appeals, given that some articles were a "financial side," which is outside the parliament's jurisdiction.
