[size=45]Turkey arrested dozens of Kurds after the attack last Sunday that targeted a security compound in central Ankara and was claimed by the Kurdistan Workers' Party, according to what Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced yesterday.[/size]
[size=45]The Turkish authorities carried out raids in the southeastern areas of the country inhabited by a majority of Kurds, two days after the attack that targeted the police headquarters and the Ministry of Interior, located in the same complex in central Ankara, near the parliament building.[/size]
[size=45]The attack was carried out by two people, one of whom blew himself up, while the other attacked police forces, two of whom were injured.[/size]
[size=45]Minister Yerli Kaya said yesterday that Turkish security forces arrested 67 members of what they called “terrorist organizations” in 16 provinces.[/size]

[size=45]Political analysts believe that the aim of this attack is an attempt to prove the presence of the organization, which is receiving strong blows in its strongholds in the Qandil Mountains on the border with Iraq.[/size]

[size=45]In turn, Turkish political analyst Hisham Gunay says that these terrorist organizations have an agenda to carry out these attacks as a form of propaganda to recruit new youth into their ranks, and that they remain strong despite the strikes they are exposed to, and are capable, despite the security difficulties, of carrying out attacks in the heart of the capital.[/size]
[size=45]Gunay added that the choice of the location of the terrorist incident and its proximity to Parliament and the Ministry of Interior has implications and messages that the organization is trying to pass on to its supporters, and there is another reason, which is to respond to the military operations carried out by the Turkish army, which are causing great damage to it.[/size]
