Today, Tuesday, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan set a condition for voting on the candidate for presidency of the House of Representatives, while noting that it has not received any list of names nominated for the position yet.

The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiyath Al-Sourji, said in a statement to the Maalouma Agency, “His party has no red line towards any candidate presented by the Sunni component, provided that he does not meet the specifications of Muhammad Al-Halbousi.”
Al-Sourji added, “The position of Speaker of the House of Representatives is a position for all Iraqis, and therefore the political forces must have a say in choosing the appropriate person for the position, after the forces of the Sunni component agree on one or more candidates for the position.”
He pointed out, "The National Union will respect the choice of the Sunni component, and we do not have a red line regarding what the component will choose, except for one condition that it does not meet the specifications of former Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi."
Yesterday, the Sunni forces presented a list of 5 names for nomination for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The Federal Supreme Court [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] earlier issued a decision to terminate Muhammad al-Halbousi’s membership in the Iraqi parliament on charges of forgery.
