Shafaq News/ “Shini Ikhtiyar Haj Fares Bisri,” who received the highest votes in the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry elections, confirmed today, Monday, that she achieved a record in the history of women’s commercial work.
She said during a press conference held today in Sulaymaniyah, attended by Shafaq News Agency, that she is happy to be the first woman in Iraq and Kurdistan by obtaining the highest votes in the elections for the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Iraq and Kurdistan.
She added that she is proud of her victory, stressing that this selection holds her doubly responsible, as she must highlight the energies of women in this field.
She pledged to work to make room for women to enter the field of trade and industry after supporting them, indicating that she would work with all members, as well as with the Erbil and Dohuk Chambers of Commerce, in order to advance commercial work in Kurdistan.
“Shini Akhtar” is 27 years old and works in the “Shini” commercial company affiliated with her father, who headed the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the eleventh session after receiving the highest votes.
The committee supervising the elections for the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council announced last Thursday the end of the polling, voting and counting process without registering any complaint or violation.
Atta Muhammad, supervisor of the Chamber Council elections, said during a press conference attended by Shafaq News Agency, that over the course of 15 hours, the process of electing the Council of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry was completed and the members of the twelfth session were chosen without recording any legal violation or complaint, and he indicated that the elections were held.
