    The Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced, on Monday, that priority in examining and registering trademarks will be given to the national product, while indicating facilities for industrialists regarding registering the trademark electronically without reviewing the Trade Marks and Data Department.
    The Ministry’s spokeswoman, Doha Al-Jubouri, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the Ministry, through the Trademarks and Trademarks Department, seeks to ensure and deepen the importance of intellectual property and its role in economic transformation, for the benefit of Iraqi society and improving the situation.” economic of the country.
    Al-Jubouri explained, “The government took into consideration the legislation related to trademarks and provided its best services to industrialists, in support of the national industry, in addition to facilitating the submission of their applications and giving them priority in examining, registering and publishing their trademark, in addition to providing them with all books and endorsements for their trademarks to government agencies that facilitate Their work is like the Ministry of Health and the books of the General Authority of Customs.”
    She added, “Under the supervision of the Minister of Industry and in support of the national product, the Trade Marks and Data Department has increased the pace of work to eliminate the backlog of applications and examine the trademarks of foreign and local companies, as the applications for the years 2021 and 2022 have been completed,” noting that “the applications for the year 2023 are being worked on.” To accomplish it.”
    She pointed out, "increasing the number of bulletins issued by the Department of Trademarks and Trademarks, in addition to continuing to work to provide industrialists with the final registration certificates for their trademarks, in addition to shifting to electronic records and announcements, and working to automate paper forms and convert them to electronic services, including electronic payment mechanisms, which facilitate the Industrial registration of the mark without the need to review the department.
