    Today, Wednesday (February 14, 2024), the Federal Integrity Commission represented the Republic of Iraq at the World Government Summit in the United Arab Emirates.
    The Commission stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “The Chairman of the Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, participated in the summit within the two dialogue seminars entitled (Shared Responsibility in Protecting Public Resources) and (The Role of Institutional Partnerships in Promoting Public Integrity and Transparency), as the two seminars included: Four axes, the first of which addressed good practices related to the role of SAIs in protecting public resources and promoting the values ​​of integrity, accountability and transparency.”
    She added, "The second axis highlighted the role of anti-corruption bodies in protecting public money, and promoting the values ​​of integrity, job ethics, and accountability." 
    She continued, "The third axis is among the mechanisms that would strengthen institutional partnerships to enhance integrity and transparency in the public sector, especially among the bodies and agencies concerned with that, while the fourth axis, in which the symposium concluded, reviewed the best experiences related to the use of information technology and its role in strengthening the efforts of regulatory agencies." And anti-corruption bodies to protect public resources and enhance integrity, transparency and accountability.” 
    She continued, “Judge Haider Hanoun met with the head of the Emirates Accounting Authority, Hamid Obaid Abu Shabas, where he praised the conferences held in the United Arab Emirates, considering them a means of exchanging experiences and strengthening institutional partnerships, expressing “the desire to hold training courses for financial auditors.” “Because of the experience the agency possesses in this field and its use of modern technological tools.” 
    For his part, Abu Shabas confirmed, according to the statement, “the readiness of the Emirates Accounting Authority to cooperate in all fields, and to form joint teams from both parties to sit down and solve the challenges and implement the memorandum, enhance expertise, increase the capacity and institutional building of the two parties, and develop and improve systems and policies for preventing and combating corruption, in addition to enhancing cooperation.” Scientific assistance through the exchange of technical assistance between the two parties according to their field of specialization.”
