Today, Wednesday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee clarified the matter of increasing salaries and adding allocations in the current year’s 2024 budget.
Committee member Mustafa Al-Karaawi said, in an interview with the official agency followed by Mawazine News, that “the 2024 budget schedules and amendments to them have not yet reached the House of Representatives.” He added, “There are demands by members of the House of Representatives for the government to send the schedules, since the budget is broken and the spending is limited only to employees’ salaries.”
The member of the House of Representatives pointed out that "other details related to increasing salaries and adding allocations will be known when the budget tables reach the House of Representatives."
The Ministry of Planning confirmed earlier that its work would continue to complete the federal general budget schedules for the current year 2024.
