[size=45]The Ministry of Water Resources announced its use of concrete cloth technology for the first time in the country to line irrigation projects, and it is one of the plans the Ministry is pursuing to develop the water resources sector in all governorates of Iraq.[/size]
[size=45]The executive director of the project, Engineer Hussein Naeem, affiliated with the General Authority for Irrigation and Drainage Projects Maintenance, said that lining work on the Wc29 canal of the main canal in Al-Ishaqi has been initiated using concrete fabric technology for a distance of 1 km in length as a model, in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Tools Company for General Trading Ltd.[/size]
[size=45]Naeem added that the concrete cloth technology is used as an alternative to traditional concrete in lining projects and irrigation channels and stabilizing slopes, indicating that this technology is characterized by ease and speed of implementation and installation, is durable and highly resistant, and is excellent for erosion factors. It is also used on a global and Arab scale and has a solid global origin.[/size]
[size=45]He continued that one of the advantages of concrete fabric is that it is environmentally friendly and reduces carbon emissions by approximately 60%, as well as being resistant to ultraviolet rays, noting that 5,200 square meters of concrete fabric were allocated to line the canal for the specified distance.[/size]
[size=45]What is new to note is that the Ministry is working hard and with all its capabilities to secure water quotas and deliver them to all those who are eligible, fairly and according to the plan established and studied by specialists in the field of water resources.[/size]
