Peshmerga Commander on Gwer frontline Qadr Qadr has revealed that so-called Islamic State (IS) militants are surrendering to Kurdish forces on a regular basis, since the routes between territories in Iraq and Syria have been blocked.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency - Peshmerga Commander on Gwer frontline Qadr Qadr has revealed that so-called Islamic State (IS) militants are surrendering to Kurdish forces on a regular basis, since the routes between territories in Iraq and Syria have been blocked.

Qadr explained that IS insurgents have withdrawn from the Gwer area to their stronghold of Mosul, after suffering heavy losses in recent weeks.

He added that over 300 terrorists have surrendered to the Peshmerga forces.

The Peshmerga have taken control of IS routes connecting Syria and Iraq, Qader pointed out, meaning ammunition and military support cannot reach the ISIS terrorists in Mosul.
