New Zealand's Mount Doom (Mount Ruapehu) showing huge increase of both carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide at the volcano's Crater Lake.

New Zealand's North Island home of "Super Volcano" Reporoa Caldera, the colossus Mt Ruapehu and the White Island volcano
Earthwindmap showing large amount of both carbon dioxide (CO2) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) output
Mt Ruapehu and the White Island in Bay of Plenty volcano are showing signs of activity
White Island volcano released a small eruption at the end of April...
Mt Ruapehu's lake temperature had doubled in the past few weeks

Is one of three, or all the volcanoes on New Zealand's North Island about to "pop?"
Large amounts of both carbon dioxide (CO2) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) has been recorded across the island's surface the last week or so.......
With temperatures doubling from 25C to 45C tourists and hikers are being warned to stay clear from Mount Doom which last erupted six years ago.
The volcano, which is really called Mount Ruapehu, has seen a huge increase of both carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide at the volcano's Crater Lake.
It was used in various scenes in the successful trilogy "Lord of the rings," and it last erupted six years ago.
Fearful boffins have raised its status to "heightened unrest" as they warn people not to get too close - or risk a nasty death.
Volcanologist Geoff Kilgour said: "Taken together these data now indicate more volcanic unrest at Mount Ruapehu.
"The increased gas output coupled with high heat flow and volcanic tremor imply a higher likelihood of activity."
Paul Carr, Operations Manager for Tongariro, said: "We recommend climbers, trampers and walkers do not enter the zone."
